Start An Indoor Vertical Garden This Spring

During the winter and spring seasons, you may be looking for ways to bring your garden indoors to maintain a natural feel in your home. A great way to achieve this is by installing a vertical garden. Here we explain what is a vertical garden, what are the advantages of using this method, and introduce you to some products to help you get growing!

What Is A Vertical Garden

A vertical garden is also known as a living wall or a green wall, and can be either free standing or attached to a building structure. It is a great way to grow vegetables, fruits and other plants either indoors or outdoors and can also incorporate automated hydroponics – a soilless method of gardening. Think “Hanging Gardens of Babylon” – the original vertical garden!

Advantages Of Vertical Gardening

Growing vertically allows you to maximize your indoor space (growing up not out), allowing you to grow more at once. Depending on the height of your set-up, it can be very easy to maintain making it accessible for watering, pruning and harvesting. As it is suspended off the ground, the increased air flow promotes healthy growing plants without the concern of pests or disease.

Besides its functional design and simple maintenance, a vertical garden also adds life to your home, creating a more visually appealing environment while improving indoor air quality.
